leveling professions, making kamas and even getting sets is a bit harder than it was in early days. Personally i feel it's hard to attract players in a game like Dofus for obvious reasonsġ) It's a long process, the game takes month of hard work to reach somewhere and personally it was much harder few years ago than it is now one of the reason i feel ( tbh the only reason) Idols were implemented in the game was because to make the leveling part faster so that it doesn't bore the player.Ģ) I also feel the game is a bit harder on new players now.

Plus you cannot play with 1.29 graphics in 2016, that will hurt the game in a long run.Īlso I hope the game is released on Steam that would be great in my opinion because thats the best way to attract new players Imagine if the game was still the same the way it was 1.29 it would have got boring as hell to play after some time. Often some disagree and some agree but Imo changes are necessary even tho if you don't like it. I think people have talked about where the game is heading a lot of time in the past. The Dofus anime has a similar, yet smaller, cult following in certain anime circles throughout the internet. The Wakfu anime has a very large cult following, which is what has kept that game afloat through some of the most ridiculous things to happen to a game community ever.

Ankama is not going after the folks that only play and, as the art keeps evolving, they evidently never will.Įdit to add. There is a very strong market out there for games that don't look so serious. The title that gave Steam Greenlight validity in a time when many thought the concept was doomed to fail, because a game with a cartoonish art style swooped in and wowed everyone with great production value and depth of gameplay. One of the first titles ever to pass through that process. Fly'n, the title that came through Steam Greenlight in its earliest days. Nearly identical art style, and it seems to have been very well received.Īlso, as I mention in every Steam thread that doubts that Ankama can be successful on the Steam platform. Wakfu has been on Steam for quite some time and has "very positive" reviews. This is an image of the Sacrier back in Dofus 1.29. I want this game to be successful, but gathering from the art-style from lower level monsters, everything just looks like a big joke. I did some poking around, and the only game that shares a joke-like art style, is Bloons Tower Defense. But I will say this: Games that have an art style like this don't do well often. The Field monsters used to look intimidating, but now look like big eyed cutesy monsters that are severely out of place. 80% of the monsters look like cartoonish villains. The art style has been changed from "Dofus" to just a joke. Looking at it now, versus how it was when it was first released as 2.0, I see some differences that make me feel uneasy about it's development.

The game looked amazing to be honest, but that was in the short run. With the release of Dofus 2.0 7 years ago, Dofus took a severe turn, and several people left. It had a serious tone, but also made occasional jokes and had easter eggs. The gameplay was simple, and even the art style was simplish, but it also gave a unique tone that I can only attribute to Dofus in my years of gaming. But what made it fun all those years ago? It was simple. However, this raises several concerns on my end, and how I think Dofus is going to hold up.ĭofus is a game that's been out for 12 years now. This is an amazing step for Dofus, seeing as how it's recently been on the decline. So first of all, you should all know that Dofus is planned to hit Steam.
